Asbestos in Sunshine Homes

Sunshine grew up around its rail and manufacturing industries, with extensive post-war worker housing built during the decades when asbestos cement was at its most widespread. Fibro homes, brick-veneer dwellings, garages, sheds, and boundary fences across Sunshine frequently contain asbestos materials that need safe professional removal when renovating or demolishing.

Sunshine Jobs We Commonly Handle

Fibro wall and cladding removal
Eaves, soffit, and fascia removal
Garage, shed, and carport asbestos removal
Bathroom and laundry strip-outs
Asbestos fence removal and disposal
Storm or impact damage cleanup

WorkSafe Victoria Compliant

All Sunshine asbestos removal is completed in compliance with WorkSafe Victoria requirements. We handle the required notifications and provide complete documentation, including disposal records, for your project.

A clear plan before work begins

01

Share your suburb, material location, approximate size and access details. Photos help us scope the job but cannot confirm asbestos.
02
Confirm the material and scope
We discuss inspection or testing where needed, then quote for the agreed removal, site controls and disposal requirements.
03
Arrange safe removal
Book a suitable date. Required notifications, removal controls and disposal documentation are addressed for your project.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you service Sunshine and the surrounding Brimbank suburbs?

Yes. We service Sunshine, Sunshine North, Sunshine West, and the wider City of Brimbank in Melbourne's west, subject to job scope and scheduling.

Why is asbestos so common in Sunshine homes?

Sunshine developed as an industrial and worker-housing area through the peak decades of asbestos use, so fibro cladding, eaves, sheds, and fencing are very common in its older homes.

Can you remove asbestos before a Sunshine renovation or rebuild?

Yes. We can test, quote, remove, and dispose of asbestos materials ahead of a renovation, demolition, or rebuild, with all notifications and documentation handled.
