National Asbestos removes non-friable asbestos cement materials from garages, sheds and outbuildings across Melbourne and Victoria. We define whether the job covers asbestos sheeting only or a separately agreed whole-structure demolition scope, then plan access, removal, disposal and the documentation required.
Start with the end result you need
An old garage or shed may have asbestos cement roof sheets, wall cladding or both. Our Class B service covers non-friable asbestos materials. If the material has not been identified, arrange testing or inspection before planning demolition or invasive work.
Tell us whether you want the asbestos sheets removed so another contractor can repair the building, or whether the whole outbuilding is to go. Those are different jobs. The quote should make clear what happens to the frame, slab, contents and any adjoining structure.
Sheeting removal or whole-structure demolition?
For a sheeting-only job, access and material condition determine how removal is planned. The remaining structure and any replacement roof or cladding need to be considered with the relevant building trade. Do not assume a removal quote includes reinstatement.
For a whole garage or shed, we can discuss the demolition and site-clearance scope alongside asbestos removal. Confirm structural work, slab removal and further clearance separately. The renovation planning guide explains how assessment and removal fit into the wider project.
Access and adjoining properties
A rear-lane garage, narrow side passage or shed beside a shared boundary creates different access constraints. Tell us about vehicle access, approximate dimensions and nearby occupied areas. Explain whether the structure shares a wall or roof line with another building.
You do not need to climb onto the roof or pull sheets away to prepare an enquiry. Use existing photographs or take them from a safe, accessible position. Leave brittle or damaged material undisturbed and mention its condition when you call.
Removal, disposal and records
The work is assessed and planned before removal. Asbestos waste goes to an authorised receiving facility, and the disposal arrangements form part of the agreed scope. Ask how independent clearance will be arranged where required and what documents you will receive.
If material has already been lawfully removed and securely packaged, discuss asbestos pickup and disposal instead. Pickup is different from dismantling an intact asbestos-clad structure. Do not remove the sheets yourself to turn a removal job into a pickup job.
Request a garage or shed quote
Include the suburb, property type, approximate size, suspected material locations and whether demolition is intended. Tell us about access and any existing assessment report. We service Melbourne, Werribee, Dandenong and regional Victoria, subject to the job scope and scheduling.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you remove the asbestos sheets without demolishing the whole garage?
We can discuss a materials-only removal scope. Whether the remaining structure can be retained depends on its condition and the planned work; make the intended end state clear when requesting the quote.
Do you remove entire garages or sheds?
Whole-structure work must be expressly included in the demolition scope. Tell us whether you need sheeting removal only, structural demolition or further site clearance so the quote states the agreed boundaries.
How much does asbestos garage or shed removal cost?
The amount and condition of material, height, access, neighbouring buildings, disposal volume and any demolition or clearance requirements affect the price. Send the location and approximate size without disturbing material for a scoped quote.
